Fall Fashion, Cute Outfits for Colder Weather

I love styling for cooler weather. The need to keep warm with layers makes for lots of outfit options. I hope these outfit ideas inspire you to have fun with colors and textures and to step outside of the box by pairing pieces from contrasting style genres.

What to wear in winter
Just because the Summer heat has retired for another season doesn't mean your favorite cutoffs have to go with it. A major factor in being edgier with your style is knowing you can mix and match clothing and accessories you wouldn't normally even find in the same store during a particular time of year...like shorts and jackets. Pair leggings or tights with your sexy cutoff shorts. Add a cozy wrap and ankle boots and you've seamlessly transitioned Summer Girl into Fall Fox.

Summertime Fashion Tips and Trends - How to dress sexy and appropriately AND beat the heat.

women's sporting event outfits

Outside or sporting events come with fashion challenges in the summer.

To keep cool and classy, choose cotton pants or capris that offer ventilation and won't stick to your body paired with a baby tee or crop top. If you're still worried about showing too much, grab a collared shirt and tie it around your waste or wear loosely over your top.

What Not to Wear to a Job Interview

(For my thoughts on appropriate interview attire, check out my article "CLOTHES THE DEAL...Job Interview Attire Ideas".)

No matter how developed your skills applicable to the job, or how much you rehearsed your spiel about how you can help advance the company you're interviewing with, your attire will be speaking and possibly interrupting, before you've even opened your mouth. This list, and my article: "CLOTHES THE DEAL...Job Interview Attire Ideas", will help you dress for success and ace that important job interview.

  •  Jeans - Even if you think you're compensating with business wear on top, you're not. Just don't do it.

CLOTHES THE DEAL...Job Interview Attire Ideas - What to Wear to a Job Interview

(For my thoughts on what NOT to wear to an interview, check out my article: "What to NOT Wear to a Job interview".)

A great concept to remember when dressing on for a job interview is to consider what you might wear if you were meeting your fiance's conservative parents...for the first time...in church! Nothing too short, too tight, too colorful, too revealing, too white, too black, etc. This criteria for dressing to impress a prospective boss probably seems impossible to meet so I've put together some great out fit suggestions with pictures to make it easy to ace 50% of that interview before you even leave your house.

10 Things Men Love Women to Wear

The formula is: Hint of Costume Cliche (Waitress, School Girl, Lolita, Dominatrix, Secretary) + Hint of Easy Access (Plunge, Zipper, Ties, Short, Tight, Button Down, Transparent, Slits) with a "Halo" of Innocence = What Men Love Women to Wear.

The most important element in this formula is the "hint" which will attain the overall innocence of the look. It's a tricky equation to complete without error but who said men are anything but tricky.

The tip is not to go overboard in any direction. HE should not be able to put his finger on your inspiration. You DON'T want to hear, "You look like a waitress, or construction worker or middle-schooler".

Enjoy the examples below and please leave your feedback.

Femininely Androgynous - How to make trending menswear look sexy...and get the look for less.

Hugh Hefner's famous men's magazine, Playboy, is more world-widely known and recognized, than any other of its kind. Ask Playboy readers what makes the magazine's photos stand out over the web's endless supply of eye-popping, chest-clutching, uncensored nude media and the unanimity of the answers can be chalked up to the following summation: Playboy's images are more "classy" than images in other magazines. The photos emit sex, but in a "artistic", and more "beautiful" less "raunchy" way. I decided THAT is the EXACT portrayal I try to accomplish when I dress myself..."classy sexy".

How to Make a Feather Skirt Peplum DIY, Without Sewing

How to Make a Peplum from Feathers
When these vintage-inspired, short, over-skirts became all the rage, I immediately started thinking up how to put my personal spin on the accessory. Search Google Shopping for 'feather peplum' and find one for purchase, I dare ya! Not there right? Feathers it was! After all, one doesn't wrap up in a peplum for the ballgame. This was going to be my outfit addition for an appropo, special occasion. And so began my feather peplum creation. What do you think? Making this thing is sooooo easy peasy I almost feel a little embarrassed and "high-n-mighty" to be giving you instructions on how to glue feathers to elastic...but here goes. Please leave feedback.
